Abstract Hybrid material composites can meet the increasing demands for high strength and low weight due to their different workpiece properties. Usually, hybrid components require post-machining after fabrication. Due properties, new challenges arise in machining process. It is essential recognize course of boundary order adapt process planning accordingly enable a uniform transition during machining. This paper presents method automated recognition automatic adaptation parameters considering force level milling materials. way, load on tool area be reduced by up 71%, which prevents premature failure. An optical laser line scanner used localize transitions within components. enables digital mapping distribution discretized model. In combination with an empirical model, it possible predict cutting forces materials determine adapting them specified target values.
